INDIRECT HORIZONTAL ROTARY CALCINER

The Stantil Horizontal Rotary Kiln is ideally suited for indirectly heated calcination in a variety of applications including uranium, rare earths and other minerals. The calciners are configurable to handle different bulk densities, throughputs, residence times and temperatures up to 950 degrees depending on processing requirements.

MAXIMISING CALCINER PERFORMANCE & ECONOMY

The Stantil calciner design incorporates features to ensure quiet operation and maximum thermal efficiency within a compact footprint. By suspending the weight of the heat tube horizontally from the gearbox at the discharge end and a yolk bearing device at the feed end, the need for trunnion wheels with a riding ring along the length is eliminated. The benefit is that the entire length of the heat tube is able to be encapsulated, dramatically improving heat retention within the fully insulated heating chamber and improving fuel economy.

PRODUCT HANDLING

To ensure gentle handling of feed material through to discharge product, the kiln includes a number of features. Our feed screw is compact, reducing levels of crushing that can occur in many standard augers. Within the heat tube are specially designed lifters to promote process activity whilst gently moving the feed material through the kiln. Various accessories to complement the calciner may include custom designed feed chute, de-lumper or water jacketed cooling screw conveyors.

PROCESS GAS HANDLING

Stantil can support you with the supply of suitable process gas handling equipment such as bag houses and scrubber systems. We work with you to ensure gases are appropriately cleaned to expected environmental expectations while maintaining the correct kiln pressure to keep optimal performance.

MINERAL HANDLING CAPABILITIES

The HK Series Rotary Kiln also features a compactFeed Screw thatreduces material crushing commonly seen in standard auger systems, alongside internal ‘Lifters’ positioned within the heat tube.

These Lifters promote controlled material movement through the horizontal rotary kiln, supporting consistent process activity during rotary kiln calcination. Working together, the Lifters and compact Feed Screw move feed material gently through the calciner kiln. This helps improve residence time control and reduce overall processing time in mineral calcination applications.

Stantil works with external vendors to provide suitable equipment that further assists your calcining operations. Optional equipment to complement our Rotary Kiln Calciners can be:
